Kai Takada Misner is a Leader in the Controlled Environment Agriculture space. Misner is a Managing Partner of Planted Detroit, a company that designed, built, and operated indoor farms. The company grew fresh leafy greens for salads to feed Detroiters with local produce year-round.
Misner received his BS in Natural Resources from Oregon State University. His work has taken him throughout Western, Central, and Eastern Oregon and Washington to research plant and soil science. His background informed his work at Planted Detroit while developing technologically advanced horticultural facilities.
Visionary ideas are grounded in technical realities. Misner’s scientific practice is entangled with his creative practice. The work involves conversation, ideation, drawing, rendering, building, testing, sharing, and more in order to find new possibilities for developing a shared future.
